A city made prosperous due to its extensive mines. Berholme is the only city on the Dercian continent not to be
a part of the Demothean Empire; Berholme is also the most northerly city on the continent. In the past Berholmian
independence has been guaranteed by her doughty citizens and the loyal dragon Ithukul...
As the last free city in the north Berholme is home to many philosophers and thinkers - ultimately it is the last
true remnant of the ancient Kingdom of Dercia.
"The Northern Gates". A great trading and agricultural city. Until twenty years ago Calaria and Berholme together held on to the ideals and beliefs of Ancient Dercia - as the two strongest parts of the Northern League. The defeat of the allied Berholmian and Calarian armies by the Demothean Legions at the Battle of Huvarl Field ended Calaria’s proud independence however...to this day the Calarian people remain unruly subjects for their Demothean Overlords.
During the days of the Dercian Kingdom Kralinsk was a quiet river trading town. After the Demothean Invasion, however, Kralinsk was established as the Capital of the Demothean Province of Dercia. Dring the first great Dercian revolt Kralinsk was sacked and burnt to the ground by the rebel barons. The city has only recently been rebuilt and again exists only as a sleepy river port.
The finest of the deep water ports on the Dercian continent. In ages past it was a bustling harbour. Now it serves primarily as a logistical centre for the Demothean occupation.
Called with some justification the "City of Thieves". Other than Berholme Debuse is the freest of all the old Dercian cities, for even the Demothean troops often fear to patrol its labyrinthine alleys and sewers. Consequently these areas are now the haunts of thieves and free thinkers in equal measure. Despite occasional Demothean pogroms against these elements Debuse is still largely lawless and anarchic.
The Capital of Ancient Dercia, in the past Iccanen was described by more than one scholar or poet as the most impressive
city in the known world.
Originally the Demothean's did not base the capital of their new province in Icanen for fear the city could rise in revolt at any moment.
After the Great Dercian Revolt and the burning of Kralinsk however, the Demothean's did return the capital to Icanen -
transforming the city and island into one great military camp - from which they could launch a ruthless counterstroke against
any further uprisings...
Javin Port, Far Reach & Graven Tarn:
"Dark Sea Ports" All three of these ports where absorbed into the Demothean Empire almost one hundred years ago. They are primarily concerned with the export of luxury southern goods across the Sundered Straights to Icanen and Davena and the import of northern raw materials. As they have grown rich under the Demothean hegemony these three ports are relatively content under the Demothean yoke.
The greatest university town in the north. Dierhom also boast some of the greatest architecture in the world. The children of the nobility and the wealthy merchant houses from all over the North come to study under the great Masters at the University of Dierhon. This city has always been difficult for the Demothean Empire to administer and periodically student radicalism reaches such an extent that they are exiled enmasse from the city. During the recent Conclave of the Dark Sea, General Medicar argued for the destruction of Dierhom due to its ‘seditious influences’ on the region, he was however, overruled by the Demothean Emperor on the Diamond Throne.
